What is the best time to put lotion on?

In my view, it's very imperative to moisturize your skin regularly because cleansing your skin regularly keeps the oil levels in your skin controlled. However, if you're someone with normal skin you would only need to moisturize once a day. But if you're someone with oily or dry skin, moisturizing two to three time a day is needed.

Knowing how and when to use lotion is also very vital for healthy looking and scaly free skin. Dermatologists say that the best time to apply a moisturizer is when you get out of the bath or shower whether that's in the morning or at night, it doesn't really matter, pat dry yourself and then apply lotion within three minutes of a shower. By this the lotion is able to lock some of the water still on your body and use it to hydrate your skin. If you have very dry skin, lotion needs to be reapplied many times in a day. You should put some on every four to six hours for maximum protection of your skin particularly during the dry winter months.

Do not moisturize right after working out because your pores are open as well as the sweat and salt, so the lotion can seep into your pores and cause infection. Therefore, before using a lotion you should clean your skin appropriately, not to allow dirt and dust to get into the pores with the lotion. On the other hand, a lotion should not be used when it breaks down over time.

Do give it a try, and see if it works for you.

Good luck!
